  1. See a pediatrician for a correct evaluation of ADD. He/she will do some testing to determine ADD or a learning disability

Being hyper is NOT necessary to having ADD. You can also google web sites on autism, ADD and Aspergers Syndrome and they will give you information.

  2. I was diagnosed with ADD when I was 10. I couldn't concentrate on anything for longer than 5 minutes, My mind raced all the time. I would think about 20 different things in about 5 minutes. It's called attention defecit disorder for a reason. You're pediatrician should be able to refer you to someone to have him tested. I'm 25 now, but I still struggle sometimes though I've grown out of most of it! Hope all goes well!

  3. nope. He may have a different learning style or have a learning disability.

  4. no

  5. It doesn't sound like ADD.  My daughter has it and it did take her forever to do her homework and her schoolwork suffered too.  Teachers said that she didn't do her work and spent more time looking around the room.  So i took her to the doc.  That's what you need to do if his school work is suffering.  for add they should give you a packet to fill out and one for you sons teacher.  But you should have a long talk with his teacher and with his doctor to find out what is going on for sure so he isn't having such a hard time.  GL

  6. I had ADD as a child...Hey, what's that shiny thing over there? ADHD-hyperactivity, is not ness.part of the equation. I wasn't hyper either. Although I will admit in my youth someone gave me uppers. Called Black Mollys at the time and I never felt so normal before or since in my life. I've tried Ritalin and it just didn't cut it. That real speed did the trick but it's no longer avail. Too bad there wasn't enough knowlege then to put 2 and 2 together.

  7. Don't try to evaluate it yourself.  You should see a doctor if you're concerned.

  8. ADD is the #1 most misdiagnosed childhood affliction. Consider having him tested for a learning disability before you jump to ADD.

  9. hi..my son has adhd, what your describing sounds more like dyspaxia, where they find it hard to digest information, theres maybe even a touch of dyslexia in there too, go to your doc and tell him the symptoms but first go to his school to see if they have any concerns
