I think- no wait KNOW i have a virus!?

i downloaded something and then i got a message that said virus alert! and so i deleted it it had accesed the internet i think and now my comp is f***** up i go to start menu and nothing is there! i can't access any thing other than the shortcuts on the desktop. I checked everything is still there but you can't get to it . It still says virus alert! it is running smoothly though and i'm freaking out what do i do?

get ur computer cleaned. and u can go to best buy (it's kinda pricey depending on how bad it is. i JUST got my computer cleaned and now it runs beautifully) get pop up blocker, hacker blocker, and virus protection!
