I think people are making this brett favre trade too much of a big deal

What i mean is that he hasn't played all offseason and he has to get used to the new offense and develop chemistry between his new teammates. he has to do this in 3 weeks,so i think he will struggle. Plz give me your opinion on this.

It is big because of the circumstances of the POS Packers GM treating Favre like he did, and Favre being perhaps the greatest and most popular football player of all-time.

I think he'll struggle, too.  I think the "big deal" part is that he chose to leave the team he's been with for sixteen years to play for the Jets. It puts a huge shadow on his career.  This morning's paper showed a picture of him wearing a Jets cap, grinning, as he boarded a plane for New York.  It's going to turn a lot more Packers fans against him.

One of the game companies played a season with Favre QBing the Packers and a season without him as QB. They went 9-7 with him running the offense and 11-5 without him.

Then they did the same thing with the Jets and they went 11-4-1 with Favre and 5-11 without him.

The Green Bay results are to be expected but I think that Jets fans are in for disappointment. Favre will be 39 in October and does not have the marvelous receiving corps he worked with in Green Bay. As you've notied, it takes time to establish a chemistry between a QB and his receivers and the Jets simply won't have enough time before the season to do so.

They may get off to a good start against Miami but back-to-back games against the Pats and Chargers could bring them crashing to Earth. I believe the Jets will be lucky to go 9-7 and that they will miss the playoffs again. Acquiring Favre was a bad move and it could cost someone his job by season's end.
