I think is fascinating how politics works in every country, they are in a constant election, every action they make is thinking in the future they think like this " if I make that will the choose me next for president?" and they never do things that will help us in long term, they are still destroying our world without any regards!

why do you think that in human nature we like power that much?

why will someone destroy our future just to have a fat paycheck from a oil company?

  1. Scott McClellan, the former White House Press Secretary addressed that issue in his book What Happened. Politicians are caught up in a constant election cycle where  everything is about perception. Many start out as idealists but get lost in the age old dilemma all idealists with political ambitions are confronted with at one point.  Pure and noble ideals alone are not enough to change society and make it better, you need power. To get power to make the world better you might have to compromise some of your purest ideals but without power to back up your ideas however noble they are society does not change. So that's a delicate balancing act, compromise enough to have some of your ideals realized but never that much you betray yourself and those who believed in you. That's a high standard and politicians are only human so a great deal can't live up to it even if they try their best.
