I think my boyfriend may have left the car unlocked last night and now our faceplate is gone, the weird part is, nothing else is missing...they didn't even try to take the actual stereo just the face plate. It is a pioneer, but it is probably 5-6 years old and I don't think they make that specific model anymore. But can I just buy a new plate for the radio or does the whole thing need replaced?

  1. yes you can buy face plates, only if they still supply them thou,

my g/f left her car unlocked and someone stole just the face plate, derr dunno why it useless with out the rest, anyway i live in australia and went onto the link below and just asked them, the faceplate i needed was poneer & about 2 years old,  i could still get it, just have to wait 4-6 weeks, its been 3 now still waiting.

  2. Check eBay.  They sell a lot of face plates for cheap.  Because for the price of a new Pioneer face plate you can buy a new head unit.  Unless of course you have one of the really high end Pioneer decks like a DEX-P1R

  3. yes, you could try to get the same exact model/year faceplate for your stereo. but most of the times a faceplate usually costs as much as the stereo itself.

this is supposebly done to decrease the number of stolen stereos but i dont see it working.

try contacting customer support for the manufacturer of your stereo. that info should be on their website.

but your best bet would be to upgrade to a newer stereo. if so, check out this site. brand new stereos, very low prices.
