Question:

I think there's a cat living in my garage?

The garage is separate from the house, and even though the door is locked, it can get in through the bottom of the door (the cat is tiny). We only use the garage for storage, and it's really messy and spidery. The cat is really shy, and it runs away whenever I go out into the yard. I want to get a picture of it to put on a sign to post in the neighborhood. With the winter coming, I'm worried. It doesn't get that cold (about 20 on cold nights), but its been living on sparrows(there are feathers everywhere) all summer, and they won't be here in a few months.

I think it's been living there since early July, but then, I thought it was a neighbor's.

Thanks!

  1. you can just write a description of the cat if you can't get a photo. leave food out for it and you may slowly gain it's trust enough for you to get closer to it.

  2. You can leave some food and water out in a safe place for the cat and watch to see if it comes to eat.  If you put the food out at the same time every day, the cat will eventually be there waiting for you.  Be careful where you leave it because if there are more strays in your neighborhood that is an engraved invitation and once you start feeding them, stopping is very difficult.  I had two cats move in on my porch this year and I placed them both with people my husband works with.  I get updates on them too so I know they are not in bad homes or being experimented on.  So have a plan of what you are going to do with the cat once you gain its trust, especially with winter coming.

  3. well first go buy food and so it doesnt starve. and than when you know hes in there block off where he can get out with something like towels or somehing so he cant get out. so once you trap him in there take him and bring him to the humane society or something like that so he will get a home.
