  13. Though the question was intended humorously, I might as well answer it seriously, since I'm bored out of my mind. The statement "I think therefore I am" displays one view of the existence/conscious dynamic. Some say that there is a soul, and life has meaning-- that a ball of cells already has its personality within it, and has a destiny. Others, existentialists, believe that existence precedes consciousness. It is not a matter of intelligence.

  14. Who cares what you think............

  15. i love you spread the love.

  16. Another trend in philosophy is reported to declare "I am, therefore I think".

In a sense they are right, because you simply cannot think if you are not, unless you think that you are something else, something in the style of a nothingness, let's say an entity other than human that may still be thinking without needing to ... be a being.

If you do not exist in the conventional way you have no life in the intended way, and so also probably no thoughts of the conventional definition.

Those "Americans" who do not think, they still are, and some of them even live a quite fiercy life, running around and shooting each other down, or smashing each other's face. They might not think in our intended way, or think too little or think too much, or think bluntly wrong, sinfully, all too perverted, nastily,  whatever.

But they still are, there on their own scene, and even on others' scenes, in their more or less bright quality of, for instance, being "Americans".

  17. Very funny ;-) Too bad it doesn't work in reverse. (I can think of several people, starting with our idiot president who does NOT think, but, unfortunately, he most definitely still is!)

But, I think this belongs in philosophy or psychology, not Anthropology.
