I think I have a growth disorder?

Alrite, i've always been smaller than my peers. I always get the kids menu at resturants etc...

It really hit me that there might be a problem when I went to renew my drivers license. I got my restricted license when I was 16, and I am now 18. I look YOUNGER in the newer photo. I've been 5ft 5in for three years now. I just turned 18 a couple of weeks ago.

I did some research online and I think it may be a problem with the pituitary gland. I have a poor appeitite and am very small for my age.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing/has any advice for me. Should I go to the doctor? Is it too late?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

  1. well you are 5'5 which isnt too bad, and you dont finish growing until the age of 21..so you should grow more.

Yes, i would see the doctor as you sound worried, but dont be. I would drink milk and stay active and hopefully then you will grow more.

  2. Wow i thought i was alone.. I'm actually about 5'4 and 18 i also have a small appetite and i tend to look very young for my age i all ways get carded at the movie theater when i try to buy tickets for a rated Pg13 movie. I have tried a lot of things i run and try to lift, i take vitamins but honestly it does not seem to help, if you need any other help, or find anything out or just wanna chat about it email me...

  3. I agree with Connor (well put!) Best advice... see a Dr. Most likely it's just your body and I've heard mean can still grow til age 21 or so. Good luck!

  4. Well if you did have a problem the doctor would have picked it up when you were going through puberty. And if you havent been in for a physical or anything before then you need to go get a physical and bring this up with your doctor.

I am 17 (and done growing btw) and Im only an inch taller than you, so I understand how fustrating the height thing can be.

  5. Absoloutly nothing wrong with you mate. People grow, and stop growing at different times. I'm 13 and I am about an inch or two taller than some of my mates, and other are an inch taller than me. You stop growing at 21 (I think) so in those years you may grow a few more inches.
