Quite frankly you're an idiot! For one, the queen is involved in the military and has many powers, she also helps this country with much needed tourism. But the most important thing is that she IS Britain!

What, and elect our own Head of State like the States?  Just look at the balls-up they continually make of it.  No thankyou, I'd rather have my figurehead appointed by the vaguaries of fate, because at least that's a little bit interesting.

shuttup, there are plenty more things to get rid of, like kosovans, poles, kurds, etc etc. the monarchy is good for the country, and brings more revenue and jobs, and investment etc. you ought to be took out and tried as a traitor. if your british that is, if your not british, well you have no right to an opinion, on our royal family. Robert M, the Queen wasn't exactly 'hired' either. She just happened to have been the first born child of a member of the House of Windsor. It isn't exactly a great way to choose a head of state.
