I thought coffee was good for you?

Isn't it natural so if I add 2 packets of sweet n low and fat free half and half why is it so bad?

lol i get people say sweet n low is so bad but my great grandparents ate artifical sweetners and it did NOTHING to them!

  1. If your grandparents lived to 110 years of age, then I would agree with you. But how do you know that it did nothing to them? I find that honey tastes better than sugar. Coffee has caffeine and caffeine is an insecticide produced by plants to kill invading insects. In sufficient quantity it is lethal to man. In smaller quantities it can cause sleeplessness, muscle twitching, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. Gourmet arabica coffees have the least caffeine.


  2. the only thing bad about artificial sweeteners is the way they TASTE.

    also, coffee is good for you (full of antioxidants) but like everything else, only in moderation.

    Coffee has a lot of caffeine, just like soda and energy drinks.  Caffeine binds to the calcium in your blood and prevents it from getting into your bones and other things that require calcium for structure and strength, like the muscle's ligaments and tendons.  This can lead to weaker bones, and being female you need your bones as strong as possible when your young to curb the risk of osteoporosis in older age.  Your bones reach peak mass in your mid 20's.  After that point they begin to lose calcium.  Reducing caffeine intake and doing weight bearing exercise reduces the problem.

    Artificial sweeteners contain aspartame and saccharin which reduces your bladders ability to fight off infection.  Bladder infections suck and if they are unnoticed for too long they can become kidney infections and cause permanent damage.  If you continue using these sweeteners be sure you urinate frequently for reduce the risk.  Peeing flushes the pipes and gets out what has been trying to grow.  So drink lots of water too so you can go every 3-4 hours.


  5. Coffee is known to prevent cancer and a whole bunch of other things so it is good for you! The sweet n low on the other hand is good if your main focus is calories. For your body though anything artificial sugar isnt good for it.

    But it seems like your leaning more toward the sweet and low then the coffee.

    My grandmother smoked for 80 years and when she died at 96, it had nothing to do with smoking. So should we all smoke?

    Don't go by what certain things did or didn't do to other people.

    Everyone is susceptible to different ailments and to different things caused by over doing it( such as sugar, caffeine) and of course artificial sweeteners( which I hate).

    They taste like a chemical, have a nasty aftertaste etc etc.

    But if you enjoy it, by all means drink it.

    The key here is of course

    Moderation.
