Question:

I thought i had wild carrots in my garden - is there such a thing as pig-grass???

  1. Its called pig weed and it looks nothing like carrot.To keep weeds down till,till,till, and hoe,hoe,hoe


  2. This may actually be wild carrot (Daucus carota); sometimes it's called bishop's lace or queen anne's lace.  It was ALL over my last property.  

    The tops look like gigantic steroidal lacy carrot tops, and they have a small white taproot.

    I simply wait until the plants get big enough, then pull them up.  Since I'm an "organic" gardener, I very seldom use herbicides.  I've always got a few weeds and grass amongst my plants, but that's the price I pay for not spraying herbidices and pesticides on my land.
