  1. Absolutely not. There is nothing wrong with them. I used to breed hamsters and i used this cage the most if anything. I love everything about them. I used to have a longhaird syrian hamster. And i actually had her in a smaller cage then the cage you are getting. She is perfectly fine. And if for some reason your cage looks a little small, then you can get tubs and connect them. For more playtime. I hope I could help!!

  2. I do not see anything wrong with that cage for a Syrian Hamster, although I would recommend a larger one.

  3. I don't recommend any of the Crittertrail cages, especially fo a Syrian. They're pretty cramped, and as someone else said, Syrians are already territorial. They're also plastic, and easily chewed. Many hamsters tend to "live" in the wheel and store food & sleep in it. Then when they run they'll shoot food all over the place. Also, they're very difficult to take apart and clean thoroughly. The ventilation isn't very good, either.

I'd recommend a wire cage, 1/2 inch bar spacing. They're very airy and although they don't look as cool they're much better all around for cleaning and such. Just provide toys and tubes for your hamster to play in. :]

  4. absolutely nothing is wrong with it, it anything it is good i have had 4 hamsters and used that cage. And its big enuf for a syrian hamster because u onli ahve 1 cause if u have 2 they will kill each other. well hope i helped =]

  5. i think the cage is alright for a syrian hamster and i didnt think there was anything wrong with that cage its up to you its your money you decide what is best hope this helps=)

  6. Sorry, but that cage is no good on it's own. It is far too small. Please do not listen to anyone who tells you it is ok - it isn't! Hamsters like a lot of floor space to run around in, and this cage (in fact none of the Critterail cages) does not have this. By the time you get one toy in it, there is no space left. Also, the wheel it comes with is too small for a Syrian. If you want a plastic cage then have a look at either a Zoo zone 1, Zoo zone 2 (although with both of these you will need to put mesh over the grills at the top) or a Imac Fantasy cage.

  7. ok well i have had bad luck on that cage. i bought 2 of em and put my hammys in em. in 2 weeks they had both developed tumors and died. so i decied to get 2 more and both of them developed tumors and died also(i did disinfect the cages). idk if it was just my hamsters but then again idk how it could of been cause then i got a regular cage and bought 2 more and they r still alive. so i guess that tells ya sumthing right. well i hiope this helps with ur dicision.

  8. Of  Course Not.  i have 8 hamsters right now, and i have 2 crittertrail x cages. They are as sutiable as any other cage. And are  a great home and habitat for hamsters. it has just the right space  for hamsters and an upstairs little place for them, PLUS  a wheel and slide and huge food bowl. great decision .                 ~natalie

  9. i had to get rid of mine to me it was a waste of money, my gerbils chewed the slide until it falled off then they couldnt use thier wheel and i gave them plenty of other things to chew yet they still chewed it! i had to buy another cage which is bigger, better and only 10$ more its so worth it if i where you i would return the cage and buy one that is chew proof like the critterrail 2 it is great it has 2 stories more tubes then the crittertrailx and has more ventelation i highly recomend it and my gerbils and i are very happy with it :)

  10. Please, do NOT use that Crittertrail cage. Hamsters have a reputation of being nippy and territorial. They want to protect their territory, and if you stuff them in that small cage, they will certainly not be happy.

Other than the size, this cage has the option to attach lots of tubes and such. This may seem great, but they are really to small for Syrian's. Also, they 'relieve themselves' in these tubes, and they're quite hard to clean.

I recommend making your own cage! It's not too hard, and you can make it HUGE. I'll include a link. Good luck and have fun with your happier hammy!

  11. Would you like to live in a tiny bathroom?  That's what that cage is like for a Syrian hamster.  And the wheel is way too small.  They need at least an eight inch wheel so they do not end up with a back injury
