  1. No he never retired but I wish he had as he is a waste of space. He can only kick and kick and errr.....kick! He never played for England but every time he played for his club Newcastle he suffered bad injuries for about three years. He is back with England as every one else is injured but in South Africe all he could do was kick goals. He made no breaks and the Springbocks ran over him. At the end of the day he is a professional and if someone is going to keep paying him then he will have to keep playing. After the last world cup defenders learnt quickly how to keep him out of a game and he was too slow, incurring injuries. There is no doubt the geordie fans love him but they also love their football team as well which has won only one trophy in around 30 years! Its time he retired. No doubt someone will give him a job as a coach one day but till then its kick Johnny kick for to be perfectly honest there is nothing else he can do with the ball. I would not pay his wages you could probably get two or three players for the same money. He was hyped up as the world cup winner butwas lucky to play in an outstanding team. He really is just an ordinary player, nothing more.

  2. He didn't officially retire he has just had a series of injuries since the World Cup win, including a damaged knee, bicep, ribs and kidneys.

He has been playing more or less the whole of the last season for his club, newcastle falcons.

  3. No he never retired, but he should have. It was probably the press doing their thing and making a story out of it.

  4. nope, he never retired, hes just always injured bc he is a bit fragile but a the same time is absolutely willing to give up his body to make a play
