so many changes in the way they are scheduling thing more then likely has them doing some last minute fine tuning

Reportedly, NHL Clubs are allowed to release high priority games, such as opening day and other games on holidays or high profile games today. Those expected to be released are opening day, hope opener, new year's eve, as well as any other holiday.

Tomorrow, the full schedule is reported to be released.

However, in year's past, the NHL made it pretty public knowledge that it was such and such a date. I am slightly confused as to why it is not public knowledge already.
