I thought the bae 146 was out off service?

just that i read in an airliner magizine that the bae 146 was getting scrapped and getting replaced by a318's

yes you have got that right.maybe i will read the issue of that magizine as my grandad is very interested in planes and has very collectable models of them so maybe i will start to take an interest in planes too even if i dont know hardly anything about them =D

Produced from 1978-2003 there are many still in service. It's no surprised that some of the early example have reached the end of their service life.   The ones produced near the end of production are barely 5 years old.  As of August 2006, a total of 158 BAE 146 aircraft (all variants) remain in airline service.
