Question:

I thought the idea of bug protectoin organic great. But I'm out doors all the time .

The pest are all over me. Really sick of it

  1. If you don't want to use a bug repellant, then your best bet would be to wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants with closed-toe shoes.  A citronella candle also helps keep pests away, but you need to be near the candle for it to be effective.  Good luck.

    Also, if you just recently switched from conventional to organic systems, it's likely that you don't have a good population of natural predators yet. They will show up on their own if you let them, but if you want to encourage them to appear faster, do some research to learn native plants in your area that attract birds and beneficial insects. For example, swallows and martins are some of the best mosquito-eating birds and some species can also be attracted by bayberries and eastern red cedar. Dragonflies, spiders, some species of wasps, and praying mantises are all great pest eaters too.
