I thought this was illegal, is it?

A creit company bought my debt from a bank.I've been paying them £1 a week out of total of £27 per week income as I became unemployed, they were not happy. Although they know the details they are harassing and threatening to take me to court

Let them take you to court, they still won't get any more money, and may have to pay court costs. They're probably bluffing.

the bank will not do anything less, if anything the credit company just bought you some time. these are seriously evil people, devoted to evil, even if it is frustrating for them and will loose alot of income in their part. they will persue it until you go to prison,  its called cutting their losses. but not after they squeeze everything out of you ... and make you an example to others.(which is an asset for them)

when i was young my parents had a similar situation ... what they did is to make them selves appear valuable, that waiting for 10 years to pay the debt is worth it for the company. they payed the debt in 17 years ...

you're poor payments, make you look like that even if they waited for 50 years you would not have paid them in full. in fact the warning threats and phone calls is more expensive to them that your payments.

THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY, ALTHOUGH ITS HARD WORK

what you should do is fill up a promissory note, to pay as soon as you can , if the company has such options.... BUT you should take action, take 3 jobs, odd , part time, give healthy payments, and continue vigorously with the promissory notes... you can survive the debt for a long time with just that ... their is no single person in the company out to get you, they are run by a MACHINE, and youre just one person in their delinquent list ... and the system is automated .... just get youre self out of that list ....

if they take you to court, youl just look like an angel striving to survive. and had steady payment, they will lose or will probably take everything you own even the clothes on youre back, but the relief will be worth it ...

believe it or not ive received court appearances for not paying the PHONE BILL,  but its not my fault , i have discontinued the phone line BUT my b*****d college room mates used my name to reconnect the line and made hours of long distance phone calls for 6 months, but the court order came at my door. they are all pieces of dog poo to connect a phone line, with a false identity, without question. inevitably they all ran away and i was not able to charge them for the bill. i paid the bill my self.

just ignore the letter or phone call to appear in court for a while, and work hard to pay for it. i know its not the same as a phone bill but work hard.

they are just DOGS BARKING, it will not be serious until you receive the date of the court appearance. i had the date of appearance too it wuz july 10 BUT.... i never went and already filled a promissory note and paid half of the bill. by the time the court sent me a letter of non compliance to the court appearance the  phone bill is fully paid ... but the GOVERNMENT still charged me delinquency tax, when i pad the taxes that year. Grrrrrrrrr ....

This is what you do. Buy or borrow a voice recorder, when they call, tape the call. After you have them on tape making threats, tell them that you would be happy to appear in court and play the tape for the judge.

they do it all the time.I'm not sure of the legality but if you are on benefit ,there is not a court in the land that will order you to pay more than you have been.Dont worry you will be fine.

I believe it is only illegal if they call you more than once a day...but they can still call you.
