I told my best friend that I used to like him?

I am a girl and my friend and I were texting when he asked me who I liked. when I said no one he asked who that last person i liked was. I told him that I didn't want to tell him that. and he asked why and i said i just couldn't then he asked if it was him and i said yes even though he had just told me earlier that he liked someone else. I had some crazy idea that he had liked me too. And even though I don't like him anymore he's still ignoring my texts and phone calls and IM's and he wont talk to me. Everyone always say if you like someone, tell them because it'll get it off your chest and even if they reject you you'll still feel better that that isn't all bottled up inside you and that is NOT true. I feel awful and i'm worried because I don't want to s***w up our friendship that we've had for years over something stupid I did. What do I do? Please help me!

Try to be optimistic, maybe he just doesn't know what to say. If you think he hates you and get all upset, chances are it will just get worse. Just give him some time.

As much as you may feel wrong about what happened, just know that he might actually have used to like you, and is just trying to figure everything out, and might actually like how you were so honest with him. he might not know what to say, but he might be a little happy :)

I think it was best to tell your friend that you used to like him. You've got it off your chest and even though it doesn't feel right, it was the right thing to do. If he's not answering your calls or replying to your IM's then he's obviously not mature enough to accept facts. You can't help it if you liked him,  so don't regret telling him that you did. He'll get over it soon enough and it will be forgotton.

You did the right thing. He needs to grow up and he will come around. Maybe he isn't sure what to say? I am not really sure why guys do the things that they do..but I wouldn't worry about it too much. He'll come around.

You told him - he couldn't handle the truth - at least you know where you stand - "you can't unscramble an egg".
