Or should I checkw ith the doctor about this. I am not a transexual so they would have grounds to refuse. I do feel I just wanna dress in the way I like. What should I do, just turn up as 'me', or do the chicken thing and NOT crossdress?

  1. I say to dress how you want to the doctors.  Most every doctor, nurse, medical assistant, etc. is a highly trained professional and have probably seen just about every fashion choice imaginable.  Besides, in most any area, there are laws that prohibit medical professionals from discriminating on the basis of gender indentity and expression.  Be sure to follow proper surgery dos and donts for for makeup, jewelery, or any other kind of clothing.

  2. why should anyone be able to tell you what to wear, people will of course have an opinion, can you handle that?

  3. Do what makes you feel comfortable. Do what you want.

  4. Check with the doctor first.  We all have to bend a little from time to time and when you are on the other person's turf follow their protocol.

  5. It is illegal for them to refuse you service.  It might be confusing for a minute while you're checking in, but other than that, do what makes you comfortable.  It's your right as a human.

  6. Do what you like nobody is interested especially not your doctor.  His concern is with your health not your choice of fashion.

  7. It might be confusing to the Nurses, and people

    who do your paper work.

  8. i saw this quetion and thought 'h**l YES YOU SHOULD' then i read the little bit under the question! can you explainnwhat you mean by ''grounds to refuse'' ?

to me woman can wear anything, men can wear anything... what is strange is that in this fashion high world is that we are still gender dressing! in other worlds you cant wear something specifically because its womanly or manly! its sad! sorry about ranting! it just bugs me!

go for it! if a doctor cant sit and speak to you because what you are wearing on the outside then they are not a very good doctor! they get paid to doa job not to judge people! i would approach the situation with an open mind! maybe instantly bringing it up asking the doc if they feel comfortable with what you are wearing!

as at the end of the day its nobodys business what you want to wear and there is no law saying what you can wear!

    good luck!

  9. Dress however you like, but check with your doctor about how you should come prepared for surgery. Most doctors ask that you come without any makeup, hairspray, etc. So while the clothes might not be an issue, the other stuff might be,

Also, like someone else said, it might cause some confusion with the nurses and paperwork. But it you're just clear and upfront about it, they'll deal.

But check with the protocol on how you should show up.

    Good luck!

  10. Honestly, I wouldn't.  It is human nature to discriminate against people.  You are more likely to suffer from complications from Dr.'s neglect.

But if it is a simple procedure you shouldnt have to dress any particular way.

Best way to go would be androgenous (sp) or something similar.

  11. I would probably let the doctor and staff know in advance. At the same time dressing or not is a personal choice.
