and now all my other friends are picking sides even tho most of them are on my side i didn't want that to happen

why would you tell someone you didn't want to be their friend anymore? It is very immature to say something like that.

Best way to handle this is to apologize and if you don't want to be friends with this person, just eliminate all contact and eventually you will loose touch. Being rude isn't necessary.

well u shouldnt tell ur other friends about what was going on because that causes drama.  just tell everyone that they should just forget about it.  its between u two and not them.

Just tell them how you feel. Tell them that do not want to get into this drama with you and your former friend. Tell them not to get into it.
