Ok, ive been working at this restaurant for a year at the end of this month. Yesterday my manager asked with a smile on his face, do u smoke weed, n i do what i normally do, smile & put my head down. Well hes like alright be honest whens the last time u smoked, i was like alright a week ago. Ive been quiting during the week for the first time in many many years. So im pretty proud of myself, but im worried that if he knows that im a stoner, which he did say a comment like "I always new u were a lil pothead & laughed". But what if i dont get my raise now? i mean he was being nice to me & still joke'n around with me & telling me what a great job i do after we had that convo, I mean he said be honest & i was!! lol geeze, i just dont kno if that was a smart move on my part.. He seemed like he didnt care, & i kno he use to blaze when he was my age.. Soo what do u guys think?

  1. Wow, big mistake! He is viewing you as a liability now. He may seem happy-go-lucky but I am sure he does not want to risk his job. I think in less than 6 weeks you will be fired.

  2. You are insane. You NEVER reveal that. You just gave them every reason to fire you--irregardless if he is the one that wants to do it or not. Seems to me you got caught up in a little flirting and let it go. Your best bet is to deny deny deny.

  3. I think you are a fool.  Start looking for another job now and hope he doesn't tell the new boss all about you.

  4. You were wrong to blab this out in a place of business/employment. You will be looked at in a different light and questioned about your judgment and trust in work situations. This may blow up in your face at the first sign of doing something wrong...good means to be fired. Does your employer drug test? Places my family works can all be drug tested on a moments notice and be fired. I'd watch my back and shut my mouth in the future!!! Maybe it is time to QUIT smoking and not just cut back!!!

    Good incentive!!!

  5. OK, one, you NEVER EVER EVER tell a boss or mgr about using any drugs, it just isn't sensible and two, never assume because you have a few friendly words here and there that you're buddies and your job is safe, because it never is. If your mgr did not want to know, he would not have asked...and as to his being chill with you, don't think your own words can't come back to haunt you, because they can. Next time anyone asks you that, mgr, boss or co workers, just say NO.

  6. I think if you can't handle the negative affects of weed, maybe you should consider not doing it.  You are asking your boss and us to justify your use of an illegal substance.  You need to decide what is more important.
