I took 4mg generic xanax on Mon. I had to take a pre-employment drug test today. Will I be okay?

I also drank a lot of water, and other fluids yesterday. Do you think I will test positive for Xanax?

  1. That must have been a great night!! If you can remember it. If you went to Quest Diagnostics it may show up, however xanax is quick to metabolize so you could get lucky. Don't worry about it though because if it does show up it will come back as "traces" and they will likely ignore it.


  2. That's a lot of Xanax.  It has a short half-life, so you may be OK.  It's a large dose, so you may not be OK.  It seems possible you may have been using this drug regularly and have developed a tolerance if you can actually take 4 mg and remain conscious - if that's the case, your chances of testing positive are higher.
