I was on a website looking at how many Tylenol 550mgs it would take to kill a person cause about 2 years ago i took on accident exactly 60 of them and was high out of my mind...I used to pop around 15 to 25 every night for about 4 months straight..And I was wondering if I didnt die cause I had a tolerance or what not...IDK...Im just wondering how I made it without going to the hospital and went to bed around 3 hours after taking them...I just want to know how I made it through all those pills...Im white...5'9''...Weigh 145 lbs...No medical conditions whatsoever...At the time....I woke up around 11 hours the next day and went to the hospital to make sure I was alrite and they told me that I was perfectly normal and healthy but I had alot of Acetiminophen in my system...Answer back...I just wanna know if it was my tolerance or an angel

  1. Tylenol is the most dangerous over-the-counter drug on the shelves... And in your place you'd best find another hobby.  Tylenol  (acetamenephen) will turn your liver to cork.  Ask any pharmacist,,,, any.

One does not build a tolerance to Tylenol... it is not addictive... but you may have damaged your liver with your overdosing.  Add some alcohol, and in 10 days, you'll be in liver failure, and dead.  Again, ask any pharmacist.

  2. I agree with Michael S. You were extremely lucky. Tylenol can cause slow-onset liver damage much like alcohol toxicity. You may not be all that lucky though because it might come back to haunt you later. Liver cancer and cirrhosis can occur even years after acetaminophen overdose.

  3. Well perhaps they exaggerated the toxicity of tylenol.  No I don't think tolerance is the word for it.  You were lucky.  Maybe you just have a stronger liver than some people.  You can die a lingering death from liver failure over a period of days if you don't get treatment within 24 hours.  It can trash your kidneys too.  Lower overdosing over a period of time can kill as well. Most people who think they are immortal eventually discover that they aren't.
