I have BS in mathematics and plan to do a second bachelor degree in computer science. The prerequisites for the CS classes i took in fall, are 2 courses of C .

I meet the prerequisite of C , but it has been several years since I took C and have now forgotten it. Will it be problem for me to take next sequence of CS courses?

Sometimes I have noticed that even though a course states a certain prerequisite, the prerequisite is really not used much.

  1. If you have the prerequisite, you can enroll in the class.

Don't worry, it will all come flooding back.

  2. you should be able to get your memory all jogged up after the first or second assignment, or reviewing the intro section of your next level course text.

but if you're uncomfortable you can take the intro course all over again. you may get bored or get a lower grade than you expected.. keep in mind that intro courses are now more competitive due to how typical universities grade on a curve and college entrance is far more competitive now.

  3. There will be some catch up time.  Some of it depends on how much C you did when you did it.

I took calculus as a junior in high school.  There wasn't any more math for me to take as a senior.  When i signed up for courses for college, i saw that i'd taken exactly two semesters of calculus, so signed up for 3rd semester.  It was pretty obvious, we'd used the same book.  So i was at a disadvantage.  It took about 5 weeks to catch up.
