Question:

I took Lamictal for 4 days in April, and I'm still noticing bad coordination?

It was one of the side effects that I noticed a lot. I'd stumble and walk into things sometimes. But I haven't taken it in over a month, and now I'm noticing that even though it's calmed down, it hasn't fully gone away. Especially when I'm typing, I'm noticing a lot of errors that I wouldn't have made before. I stutter more, I slur my words at times.

What is going on? And why hasn't it gone away yet?

  1. I would say it is something else going on. The lamictal should be WELL out of your system by now, you need to talk to your doctor. It could be another medication you are on.

  2. The only way to address this is to speak with your psychiatrist and get his/her advise on whether a change in dosage is indicated or whether a different agent is appropriate.  This is one of those things that can't be addressed without having all your data available for the psychiatrist to determine the next appropriate course of action.

    Best of luck.
