I took a 30mg Adderall XR yesterday around 3pm. At around 6pm it wasn't working...?

(I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD, they were my fiance's.) So since it wasn't working around 6pm I took about four tablets of No-doz. At around 9pm my heart started beating rapidly... it's now 12:50 pm the next day, and I'm still having a rapid heart beat...

Should I go to the hospital?

Well first of all how do you know it wasn't working?  Not being on the medication you apparently were just looking for the high.  Secondly, adderall is a methamphetamine, which speeds you up.  No-doz contains caffeine, which speeds your heart up.  You have just potentially damaged your heart muscle by constricting the blood vessels there.  If you need mental clarity and energy take vitamins and work out, don't illegally take someone elses medicine because it is cool.

It didn't start "working" for you until 9:00 because that's when the 2nd half of the beads dissolved.  It's XR for a reason.  That means Extended Release.  Half of the beads dissolve immediately, the rest 3 or 4 hours later.  Obviously 15mg wasn't enough for you, but 30 was.  I had this happen to a friend of mine once.  Try the immediate release tablets.  I like them much better because you're more in control with them.

And your racing heart was a combination of both.  Taking No Doz right before the second dose hit was a really bad idea.  h**l, caffiene pills alone make my heart race and they make be puke.  The Adderall probably didn't have as much to do with it as you think.

EDIT:  Many of the other answerers are scaring me now that I've read their answers.  I just don't understand why people answer questions when they don't know FOR SURE what they're talking about!!!  Is it just for the d**n points???  WTF???

Anyway, first of all, Adderall is NOT Methamphetamine.  It's just plain Amphetamine.  The prescription that is meth is called Desoxyn.  Never seen anybody prescribed to it and never tried it, but I've read a lot about it online.  Also, you ain't gonna die (unless you already have a heart condition and in that case, YES seek help immediately).  If you are normal and young and generally in good overall health, you'll be fine.  I would try some pot or xanax is this ever happens again.  Or just lay down and watch tv or do something else that would relax you and slow down your heart rate.

And honestly, if you have any questions about Adderall and most other drugs, don't hesitate to e-mail me.  Asking people on here probably isn't the best idea considering all of the incorrect and absolutely ridiculous stuff I've read people say about the topic on Y/A.  If I don't know something, I admit it. (And then I go back and research it out of pure curiosity.)  I'm very interested in drugs especially prescription drugs and not only have I done many of them, I've also researched the topic extensively for the past 10 years.  I generally know what I'm talking about.
