  1. my friends jack russel gets it done once a month.

  2. Some dogs need it done frequently, some dogs need it twice in a lifetime, and you'll just have to see how it is for your dog. Some breeds tend to need it more than others. Learn what the symptoms are that will tell you when it needs doing. While the dog is being groomed is a good time so any mess can be rinsed away.

  3. First, you need to make sure this is something she actually needs, some do and some don't.

What I did was start keeping track of when Cubby started l*****g and chewing again at his rear a lot, which told me he needed them expressed again, I wrote it down and just kept an eye out for symptoms, and that way I could tell how often he needed this regularly done.  For him, it turned out to be about every 6 to 8 weeks.

  4. Everytime she goes to the groomer and sometimes in between as well.

  5. Every Couple Weeks

  6. Every couple of months.

    God bless you.

  7. Every time it is ready for grooming.

  8. Most dogs never NEED it done, but most groomers do it every time. It depends on how they do it, externally or internally. They aren't 'cleaning' them out, they are just expressing them. They are just going to fill up soon again anyway. Regardless if it's a problem for your dog, he'll scoot, l**k etc. Otherwise, again, most people never worry about it.

When in doubt ask your vet if they're normal
