I took the pickguard off my acoustic guitar?

and im pretty sure i did it wrong, the wood underneath has some splintering,

should i sand this/ use steel wool on it?

also, what can i do about the "tan line"?

im left handed, and got this guitar as a hand me down, so

i just put the strings on backwards, eventually i really started disliking the was the pickguard was on top.

well um...try sanding..steel wool will be too rough on ur guitar,

take it to the music store that you got it at

do not touch it anymore, take it to a local guitar shop and have them look at it to make sure its not in danger of breaking.
