I think I did pretty well on the test but I was there with about 200 other people so what are the chances of getting a job? Fairly good or very bad. Im not sure how many people they hire and from how far away.

  1. I took the postal exam about 18 years ago and also did very well. I was called in for one interview for part-time work, and wasn't hired. I've heard no more from them.

Your chances are pretty slim. I'd say maybe 1 in 100,000.

  2. I just finished taking my test today too here in New York.  There was about close to 80 people there but a lot of them didn't seem to be postal material.  Most of them were unorganized, dressed inappropriately, looked like they really didn't want to be applying for the post office but just there for the h**l of it.  THE GIRL SITTING NEXT TO ME WAS ASKING ME FOR ANSWERS...IN SPANISH EVEN!!! You know that's not good for them but good for you.  Most of them couldn't speak English.  When you see an environment like that, the chances seem better for you.  Even if a quarter of those people get selected they have to go through the post office boot camp and if they can't handle it you're next in line.  Don't sweat it, the hiring process is more of a filtering system to weed out those who can't cut it.  So even if 4 months pass and you don't hear anything, there's still a chance that someone who they hired couldn't take the work and quit which is good for you.  Keep the faith my friend.
