I totally bombed the seventh grade. I got an F in Math, lol. Think I can make it into a good high school?

I spent about six weeks in an intensive summer math, English and SSAT's. I have an excuse (divorice) for my bad grades, and I'm going to try really really hard in 8th grade.

So, if I show tremendous improvement and dedication towards academics, do you think I can avoid going to public school?

Thanks in advance. K.

  1. Unless your going to a private school it dosent matter but when you go to collage it will matter but not this tiny little F will stop you from going into a good collage

  2. doesn't really matter how you did in 7th, as long as you do good in summer school and 8th grade, you should be fine.

  3. yes you'll be fine. that's how i was and in September I'm going to the tenth grade and now I'm on the right track

  4. public schools accept you by where you live....

  5. What's wrong with public school?

  6. I guess u can make it because the most important thing for a good high school is the SHSAT (Specialized High School Assessment Test) so as long as u score good/great on it, u'll probably get in.

  7. Good to see you recognize your mistakes and are working to improve. That says a lot. Particularly in the lower grades, it's more than just grades, so if you can keep it up and prove yourself, I think you have a great shot of getting in anywhere.

Stay in touch with your guidance counselor and keep him/her up to date on your goals because they can be pretty powerful when it comes to your high school placement.

Best wishes and congrats on your hard work this summer!
