I was decorating the bowl and he swimmed by my hand and touchrd me, is he gonna be ok because I hear they have a slimey coat that protects them from germs and stuff and that cape gets damaged when they make contact with humans.

  1. dont worry he will be

fine i always touch my beta

and nothing has happened to it

  2. he will be fine, everytime im changing around the decoration in my bettas he comes and greets me by comes and touchin me and nibbles on my finger.

  3. Its okay when my grandam would clean the fish bowl she would grab the fish gently and put it in a cup and clean the fish tank so don't worry hes going to be fine!

  4. They do have a slime coat that can be damaged by things rubbing on it - however, if your hand was wet, it would've done minimal damage.

Your little guy should be absolutely fine, don't worry :) If you're still concerned, you can add a little aquarium salt to his water - it will irritate the slime coat and thicken it, rebuilding any that may have been rubbed off.

    Good luck!

  5. I had a betta for a while and when ever I changed his bowl i would pick him up with my hand.

(if you use a net it can harm them)

I'm sure he will be fine.

    good luck :)
