I tracked a USPS package and it says it has arrived at the pick-up point. What does this mean?

Does it mean it is at the post office? Isn't the post office closed today?

  1. CAN MEAN THAT IT IS WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE U MIGHT BE ABLE TO PICK IT UP NOW BUT TRY TOMORROW NOT TODAY

  2. it means its at the place where they put em on the truck..ull prolly get it in 1-2 days..

  3. Are you sure that it si USPS? There is noevent message like that. Did it show "Arrival at Unit"? That would mean that the package is at the PO that will attempt delivery tomorrow.

Mail processing goes on and transportation runs 24/7/365 so it is not at all odd to have scans on Sunday's or Holiday's.

  4. I had pretty much the same situation..I had a package coming from Georgia.  The tracker # said it was at the pick-up point.  OK. Fine.  But a couple of days later, the tracker said the same thing, so, I tracked down the number of the post office where it was supposedly parked at and the guy there told me the package was gone.  Where?  I asked.  He said there was no way of knowing, but not to rely on the tracking system they have since it usually was two or three days behind real time.  If I didn't get the package in a week or ten days, to run a trace on it and they would "track" it down.  Seemed strange, since he didn't know where the package was or where it went from his post office.

Bottom line is...don't rely on the tracking system USPS has.
