  1. I go to Vegas regularly also and go on 2 or 3 cruises every year.  What I have found is the slots on ships are pretty tight, vs Vegas.  But the problem that I have with slots on ships is that they are not always the latest ones, especially on older ships.  I was on the NCL's new ship, the Gem, last October and it had a lot of the new multi-line video penny slots.  It had the new slots that don't take coins and dispense script.  Then in Dec we were on a RC ship that was built about 10 years ago and it had pretty much slots that were10 years old.

  2. Extract from the Detroit News Casino Guide

Before setting sail, know that you are over your head in such waters, as your chances of winning on a cruise ship are less than in most casinos in all major U.S. gaming jurisdictions.

Because no gaming commission nor other governmental agency oversees gambling on cruise ships, there is no way of knowing how much cruise ship slot machines return. In speaking with some friends who were former casino executives on cruise ships, the inside scoop is that most machines return between 80-92 percent. Besides selling a sailing vacation experience, these flotillas of chance increase on-board revenue by maximising the amount of money taken in from the casino. The casinos are one of the biggest money makers for the cruise lines. The sinking feeling you may experience while on the briny deep will most likely come from the lower (than shore-based casino's) payout on slots.

  3. Don't gamble on the ship.

  4. I think they are about on par with Vegas. i havent won more while on a cruise but also havent lost more than when I'm in Vegas. Be careful. I used to LOVE Vegas (5-6 times a year) but after my first cruise i have a new love, Cruising. Have fun

  5. I've been on 8 cruises and  find the slots pretty tight, but you might get lucky. You can only gamble when the ship is NOT in port. That's ok though, because you will be busy most of the time anyway.
