  1. Your passport needs to be valid only through the period of your visit.  use site below to confirm...enter your nationality and destination and click for the info...you will see that your passport only needs to be valid through the time period of your visit.

  2. Some countries insist that you have 6 months extra on the passport. I'm not sure what Australia needs. Why not contact the Australian Embassy or the Passport Office, better to be safe and you have time to get a new passport if needs be.

  3. When my grandparents went to Australia there had to be at least 6 months between the flight home and the expiration of the passport.

  4. not for that holiday you will have to renew it for any holidays on or after may 09

  5. my mate's japanese girlfriend was turned away by british passport control as her passport was 5 months before expiry and there was a crease in the cover.  they can refuse you entry for damage and insufficient time before the passport runs out so make sure its in good nick and has 6 months left on it.

probably best to check with their embassy but most countries (esp non-eu) want you to have 6 months on your passport before they let you in.

  6. no not yet you wont have to renew until you need it again after may 2009 because it wont be legible (SP?) to use.

you might aswwel get it renewd when you come back in dcember though (:
