I travelled from Chessington to the O2 arena past sidcup, do i need to pay the congestion charge?

I didnt go over the dartford crossing but travelled up the A42

  3. Congestion Charge is only in Central London and some parts of West London. You would have know it if you'd gone into the zone, it is heavily and clearly signed.

Not too sure if you need to go to "Specsavers", but in my vast driving experience the A42 goes nowhere near London never mind the O2 arena !!- It goes from the M42 / A444 near Ashby De La Zouche ( Leicestershire)  to the M1 at Castle Donnington - also Leicestershire. As you were 'sarf' of the Thames you will not have incurred a charge , but you went the long way round. You should have followed A3, then South Circular (A205) to the Blackwall Tunnel
