Question

I've been trying to stop bitting my nails

but it's been really hard

i tried putting nail polish on and i still bite them

Please help

i don't want anything too expensive

Well when I used to bite my nails, my grandpa would yell and scream at me all the time, and eventually I got annoyed and just stopped.

But I tried a lot of other things : Spicy nail polish ( they sell it at the drugstore), wearing gloves, chewing gum (which is also habit forming) etc. Everyone is different though..for example, the spicy nail polish didn't do anything for me since heat doesn't bother me...

try putting band aids over your fingers and covering them w/ duct tape.

There is a liquid that you apply just like polish, but its made to taste horrible to get you to stop.  This should work.  You can also go for a manicure to get whats left of your nails looking good.  If you see how nice they look, you won't want to bite them.  PS:  guys love long, well groomed nails.

there are specialist inexpensive kits that you can find at most drugstores. they make your nails taste really bad.

They sell a product in the nail care aisle especially for that. Sorry I don't know the name, but it tastes extremely bitter and you WON'T want to bite your nails with it on! You just paint it on like a polish, it's clear, just a little shiny. I used it on my 6 year old son and it worked!! It only cost about 3 dollars.

A really cheap way to stop biting your nails is to leave some of the soap on your nails after washing your hands. Another way is to put nail polish remover on the ends on your finger nails because it smells bad and tastes bitter.
