  1. TO GET A PHOTO/CUSTOM PICTURE AS YOUR AVATAR.

If you want a photo/custom picture as your avatar you need to make a yahoo 360 account. http://360.yahoo.com/login.html?.done=ht...

The photo needs to be saved on your computer as a jpg file, don't worry about the size to much yahoo will adapt it.

1> Click "my page” (top of page).

2> Click "edit personal photo" (on the left above photo window).

3> Click “browse” choose the photo from your photos click "save", Set as primary and "save".

4> Go to your “edit my profile” http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit  click  Ã¢Â€Âœuse my yahoo 360 picture” scroll down and press "preview", and then "OK" in the next screen.

    And your done.

Here is the easy way to save photos as jpg/jpeg (same thing) files. Right click on the photo click "save picture as" check the box at the bottom is set to jpg and "save" and the file is automatically saved as jpg.

Some users are experiencing a problem with the avatar showing or appearing then disappearing, since yahoo upgraded the site and continue with the work. You may need to load the avatar again and check the settings. It can take some time to show but it will eventually so try to be patient.

  2. Those are picture formats from your computers stored pictures file. Also the format for creating your own avatar follows:

First, create a 360 profile here, if not done already. http://360.yahoo.com/

You'll then click "My Page." On the left, click "Edit Personal Photos," or something like that. Click "Browse" and proceed to find the picture you wish to use. Select it and click "OK." Make sure to check the "Use this as primary picture" bubble under the photo you wish to use. That is, if you've set more than 1 picture. Click "Save" at the bottom of the page. Navigate back to YA. Click "My Profile" and then "Edit My Info." you should see 3 options for display image. check the box that says "Use My Yahoo! 360 pic." Preview it and OK it.

Remember, you'll have to have an image saved to your computer. To save a pic, just right-click it and click "Save Picture As..."
