I try downloading an update?

Microsoft Works 8 (KB955428)

But when it try to install it, an error message came up and said

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is

unaviable....enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation

package 'WORKS8.MSI'...."

So am I missing something here or maybe I need help getting the update.

Do you not also have to download some of the components, listed below the download setup file, check below link.

or try...

1. Download the update from this link (SAVE it to your desktop, don't RUN

it): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

2. Insert your MS Works 8 CD (if available) into the drive.

3. Double-click on the saved file to install the update; follow instructions.

It's looking for the original installation files for Works. Sometimes they're stored on your system, sometimes not.

You need the CD that came with your system. The installation may be able to find the file on it. If not, find it manually with Explorer, then during the installation, you'll know where on the CD to 'point' the installer.
