When is the best time to apply for a flight attendant because I know the airline industry is slow right now due to the economy and fuel prices etc... Should I start applying now or wait until I am 21.

P.S. - I'm thinking of applying for Southwest Airlines. What other airlines are good for starters?

  1. You should have started 3 years ago, or at least a year ago with Southwest, as they take you at 20.  It may take 2 months to get into training, depending on the timing of the next training class.  Once you're 21, all 70+ airlines in the US are available to you.

  2. if they allow you to apply before your 21st go ahead...flight attendant is a profession you should do when you are in your early twenties, you will enjoy the travel more now than if you wait until you're older...if I were you I would apply for all airlines that fly from the city you want to be based at...remember: you will have so many cheap flights that you can easily live anywhere you want and still be able to see your friends/relatives a lot
