If you turn five between January-June you should start school that year. If you turn five between July-December you should start school the following year. It also depends on your knowledge and your self esteem. It also depends on what your parents think.

As long as you are 5 before September 1, 2008 you can start kindergarten in the state of Texas; however, I think you may be able to skip Kinder and go on to college.  :D
