  1. Sorry,I do not.

But that was a cheap shot at a player coming back off injury. Makes me glad my son plays baseball instead.

Of course, there were a couple of cheap shots .... which makes me wonder if it was Roberts or the Pens Management that was trying to start something.

Sadly, if a wing had jumped Roberts in retaliation, it would have been a potential rallying point for the Pens ... which is what Robert's wanted. Can't score, can't break out of the lackluster play .... start a fight to get emotions into the game.

I think the league should suspend Roberts for a couple of games, and have a talk with the Pens management about what is Good for the Game. Leave the bush league stuff out of the NHL.

  2. I wasn't aware getting sucker punched in the face was a part of hockey.  This isn't a street fight, this is a sport with professionals.  Punches are thrown in a fight, not when a player is worrying about the puck and actually playing the game.

  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSGShYjQX...

    Yep, it was naughty.

  4. Well I don't but I see there is one posted. I wonder if the Pens fans can look at that a say again 'he hit him in the shoulder'

I think Roberts should get a major out of that.

  5. not suspension worthy, but a cheap shot indeed.  Just proves what I (and Sean Avery) have known all along; Roberts is a piece of c**p.  Props to Datsyuk for sticking up for Franzen towards the end though...

  6. i understand how that is a cheap shot. but honestly, it's hockey. you should only come back from a concussion when you are fully prepared to be pushed around and hit.

  7. the NHL has banned all broadcasts of that incident in an effort to make the Penguins and the officials look good.

  8. Roberts c**p,,,,,,,HAHAHAHAHHAHA

What about Osgood's acting to try to win and Oscar

  9. I'm a huge fan of Gary Roberts.  That being said, I think the NHL needs to seriously look at this clip and consider suspending him, especially considering who he targetted and how he targetted him.

On the flip side as it goes hand in hand with this question, how do you let an opponent intentionally run your goaltender (or cheapshot one of your snipers) and no one goes and slaps the snot out of him for it? I still question the Wings' toughness, even though their skill is off the hook. I still think you need someone to step in for your goaltender and skill players. The fact that Datsyuk had to fight his own battle with Gary Roberts at the end of the game is a testament to why the Wings need someone who can scrap and stand up for those guys. Datsyuk should never have to tussle with anyone, especially a carved-in-stone, rough-neck veteran like Roberts.

  10. Just following the whining coming from Pittsburg

  11. It was a total cheap shot. Frustration was showing at that point. He could have delivered a clean hard check and provided a spark. But that was low. It is also wrong that he knew it was Franzen and punched him in the face like that because everyone knows he is coming off a concussion.

  12. It wasn't the only time a Pen went after Franzens head. I am all for hard physical play, but to repeatedly cheap shot a guy in the head after he comes back from a concussion should be reviewed by the league. Its one thing to level a guy who has the puck, allowed and fully within the rules. Its another thing to sucker punch him over and over.
