I twisted my knee recently. Someone fell on it. But I've been riding my Road Bike to work 9 miles (18 total).

Typically, how long before I will be able to ride my bike again? It wasn't a dislocation, i'm sure it was just a twist. I can tell my ligaments are weak right now, as the knee seems to be on the verge of slipping occasionally. this just happened tonight.

  1. Hey I'm a cyclist and I could tell you that if you get back on the bike too early you could cause more harm to it. I don't know if you are an avid or aggressive cyclist but you should surely see a physician of some sort. Something as minor as pedaling with your knees open could hurt them again. Since you are already back to cycling, try to keep your knees straight when you pedal and make sure you are not too high up or too low on the seat. When you have the pedals parallel to the floor, your front leg's knee should be at a 90 degree angle.

    Good Luck and pedal safely!

  2. I've suffered one or two accidents that affected my knee but none were serious enough to prevent me from cycling for more than a few days. Unless you've suffered some serious damage- and you'd know by now if you had due to pain and inflammation- you should be able to cycle again in under a week.
