I twitch a LOT when I'm getting tired

Question

like, any part of my face will twitch, from my face down to my toes. Sometimes its muscles that I can control myself, but then sometimes its a muscle that I wouldn't normally be able to twitch, if you understand what you mean. The twitches aren't small either, they're big, jerking movements, almost violent, and if I'm drifting off to sleep, they'll wake me up.

What can it be, because it's annoying me somewhat...

that happens to my girlfriend, and thats how i know when shes falling asleep lol. i think it just happens to some people. she says that the really big ones though are when shes half asleep but dreaming and falls of something or something like that haaa
