I understand how global warming works, old carbon is released & creates a blanket so heat can't escape...?

However surely a hole in the ozone layer would be a good thing as it would let the heat escape........?

  1. The ozone layer only has a very small effect on global warming:

    Anything gained by enlarging it is not worth it.  The increased UV radiation would damage plants and us.

    There is no magic answer to global warming.  We need to do the obvious things; conserve energy and develop alternative energy sources: nuclear, solar, wind, biofuels.

    I think more solar rays will come trough there.

  3. The hole allows harmful rays through the ozone layer that protects us! The blanket effect builds up under the ozone layer including I think where the hole is! The heat can't escape through the hole because it can't get through the blanket to reach it and the rays make that area even hotter.
