Question:

I understand it may be costly, is there any way to ship homegrown tomatoes from IL to AZ? It's worth it!?

It is so hard to get a good tomato in AZ and my cousin has more than she can use! has anyone ever done this?? I am desperate!

  1. i know fedex does refrigerated packages.  they will charge by weight and the size of the package.  see if you can get an estimate by calling and explaining what you want to do.

I’ve shipped tomatoes from CA to MA using the USPS flat fee priority mailer (they even provide the box).  There are a couple of choices, both under $10.00.  I picked tomatoes slightly under-ripe so that they will not squish too easily & wrapped them in paper.  Tomatoes arrived in 2 – 3 days and were in good condition.
