  1. There are a number of dangerous animals in New Zealand. Like most countries, marine life can often be dangerous (cone shells, jelly fish stone fish and whatnot) and they also have some dangerous land animals like snakes, etc. Having said that, I doubt there are as many as in Oz.

  2. Hahaha watch Black Sheep (the movie)! That's so dam scary.

Haha nah NZ doesn't really have any dangerous animals. Except maybe in Zoos.

Dogs are probably most dangerous or there are a few poisonous spiders but they hardly ever come near you.

In the sea there are sharks though.

  3. yeah that first person is wrong! There are NO snakes in New Zealand, only one type of poisonous spider which personally I've never seen (and I've lived here my whole life). There have been quite a few dog attacks on young children in the past year or so, so just be careful about scary looking dogs!

  4. To the idiot who posted the first answer: there are NO land snakes in New Zealand. There ARE plenty in Australia though. :P

There is really only one potentially dangerous animal, the Katipo spider, which is very rarely seen (most New Zealand citizens have never seen one) and has only caused 3 fatalities in recorded history. It's pretty hard to die from a spider bite nowadays, the hospitals all stock effective anti-venom, and a Katipo bite is unlikely to kill you even WITHOUT anti-venom.

  5. Previous answer is totally wrong, she is thinking of Australia, a whole different story.

The most dangerous animal that you may encounter is a domestic dog.

There are no snakes at all, even in the zoos.

The spiders are not a problem, sharks to busy eating fish to worry about humans.

The biggest dangers are, the sea, climate in the mountains, bad people.

The biggest news in NZ was last year when a dolphin jumped into someones boat hurting one of the occupants

  6. i think you are referring to that crazy, mad beast they have over there called the FERAL SHEEP! its so dangerous you should only approach while wearing your shiniest gumboots and lip stick.lol
