  1. There is a short somewhere in your wiring, or in the power supply itself.

The light on the back of the PS means it is "live".

All ATX power supplies have built-in short and thermal protection. When a short or overheat condition is detected, it will kill the power supply. The supply is "dead" until you unplug it from the wall, wait about 15 seconds, and plug it back in again.

Your PS is experiencing a short somewhere, causing it to shut off. This is why the light goes out and nothing happens.

Unplug all of the components, inspect the wires for damage, replug them carefully, and try again. If the PS still goes out, it might be an internal short, which means you need a new power supply.

  2. Did you by unplugging your cables loosen other connections like -RAM,video card, etc.Did you double check all connections.

Why would anybody unplug all cables-not do anything -and reconnect them? You must of did something.
