Question:

I upgraded my ram to 2gigs, but I still get a low memory popup?

It is a dell dimension E310. It came with two slots of 256. I took them out myself and put in two compatible 1gigs to make 2gigs. My computer now says I have two gigs, but I still get a pop-up saying low disk space. It recognizes it, but I can't use it. My computer has a max of 2 gigs, I got the right ram, and pretty sure I put them in right. Any suggestions, thanks.

  1. Please repost.  Are you getting low virtual memory or low disk space?

You said one thing in the title and another in the text. They are very different problems.

    Edit....

Ok, low disk space means just that.  Adding memory won't help.  Try deleting your temporary internet files, emptying your recycle bin, and just looking if you have data you don't need.  Video takes up a lot of room.

If you're truly running out of space, you might consider getting a bigger hard drive, and using something like Acronis True Image to clone your current drive to the new one.

  2. Disk space is the remaining space on the hard drive, its different to memory (Ram) space.

Open up windows explorer or click on my computer on the desktop, Have a look at how much space is left on the C drive. delete some stuff, empty the recycle bin, remove some programs until you have enough space.
