I use glasses to assits me to see further, specialy in the dark.?

I was told by a friend who has been using glasses most of her life, that i am not suppose to use the glasses when i am reading or in front of the computer because im am using my near sided vision. Is her statement correct?

Depends on how bad your yeye are, I am near sighted too and I can't see the computer screen at 2 ft in front of me, I would have to sit really close.

If you are nearsigtedyou will be better off without your glasses for reading and computer if you can see what you are doing and are comfortable without them

She is correct in that we should not wear our 20/20 distance vision glasses for up close vision. They are way over corrected for up close. This overcorrection can tend to take away our good close up vision and lead to reading glasses much quicker.

We can get 20/60 glasses that are sufficient for up clase work and are much easier on our eyes up close.
