I used Duac for my acne and it made my skin so dry and painful...?

I don't have bad acne but, my dermatologist prescribed me Duac and Differin since I told her I want an even skin tone. I used it 4 times a week before I went to bed, but when I wake up the next morning. My face is so dry and painful. My face felt thick and would start peeling so bad. My skin evel looked worse. She said that my face would peel but I just felt like it wasn't normal at all. It was so painful that I could hardly smile coz the skin around my mouth and lips would tear and start bleeding a little. My husband and I went to see her last week and she told me to quit using Duac. I quit using it for about a week now but my face is still dry and it's still peeling. I'm not using anything coz non of the moisurizer worked for me. Can anyone tell me what I can use? I've tried Aveeno mosturizer, lotions etc..None worked! Thank you

I am 38 and just started taking roaccutain, but not using any cleanser and toner as I am afraid that it might burn my skin,my face got so dark after using duac gel is there any mild moisterizer that i can use? I have holes in my face and especially on my nose.
